Artikinesis now has a logo, a symbol, a visual identity. We have been thinking and talking and doodling about this ever since we formed (which was about two months ago). Many ideas have been floated, but most of them sank…
Brian has probaby been the most prolific logo-doodler, and this idea – a flowingly organic ligature of the letters a and k – turned out to be everyone’s favourite. It appears here in our livery of black blending into dark green – which I originally chose because it looked nice, but which we’ve retained because of the urban and natural associations of black and green respectively (and because it looks nice).
We also have some words that help to explain what we’re about. They live on the What is Artikinesis? page, but – because they are new – you can read them right here, too.
Artikinesis:
Making art wherever we happen to be
Fired and inspired by nature – by life in the modern world
Connecting with places where art is a stranger
Artikinesis – inner vision, interaction, movement and spirit.
I think that there is a little bit of everybody’s words and ideas in there, but Rose was responsible for diligently shaping and reshaping it as the ideas and objections came in.
